Smiths Photo Session

This morning we were due at the lovely home of Campbell, Carter, Tia and Doug Smith for a nice brunch and a Daddy-produced photo session of the wee ones. It was great to catch up with the Smiths over the impressive spread of wicked migas, mimosas, and miniature cinnamon rolls. Mmmmmm... Tasty!

It was fun watching Daddy chase Campbell and Carter around trying to get some magic snaps. He is lucky he didn't pull down any chandeliers with his lighting rig as he moved from room to room. While he was working on Carter, Campbell and I were having so much fun with our tea party. So much in fact, that I couldn't contain myself... I barfed up my entire breakfast. It turns out that eating the aforementioned tasty cinnamon rolls whole did a number on my insides.

Golden Gardens

Last night the three of us capped off a nice day by visiting Ballard's Golden Gardens, also referred to by a certain person as Beach Park. The beach was abuzz with activity in the beautiful evening light inspite of it being rather cold. There were lots of bonfires, beach walkers, BBQ's and people throwing footballs and frisbee's... Even a wedding (with the ugliest bridesmaid's dresses ever according to Mommy).

Earlier in the day Mommy and I went to Sponge to practice our Spanish. We learned sky (cielo), ground (suelo) and practiced a few that we'd recently learned. My pal Campbell was there and it was just good, clean fun while Daddy was out of golfing Newcastle's Coal Creek Course with Papa.

Puppet Show

Last night Mommy and I met Daddy at a local taco shop for some south of the border inspired vittles before Mommy and I headed to the Greenwood Public Library to watch a puppet show there. More puppet show Mommy.

In Their Shoes

Last night Daddy went to the Elliot Bay Bookstore in historic Pioneer Square to help celebrate and photograph the book release and signing for friend and author Debbie Reber. Her new book, In Their Shoes - Extraordinary Women Describe Their Amazing Careers, is published by Simon & Schuster and available on Amazon. Congratulations Debbie!

Auntie Sue and Uncle Tom

This morning we saddled up the Hyundai and set a course for Nana and Papa's on the sea-level outer skirts of Issaquah. Waiting there for us were the aforementioned grandpeople and the Trautwein's, or Auntie Sue and Uncle T as they will heretofore be referred to as. But I reserve my right to change my mind later and call them whatever I want.

Nana whipped up a wicked scramble, some luscious bacon, a bit of hearty toast and a few mimosas were imbibed for good measure as well. Daddy and Mommy caught up with Auntie Sue and Uncle T about what Puget Sound real estate they'd seen so far and where they were headed next. They live in Laguna Beach, CA and are looking to find some Puget Sound water view property to plunk down a rustic home to spend summers at with their beloved grand children. Sounds good to me.

Auntie Sue and Uncle T very generously brought me a couple of gifts: a super cute book about opposites, originally written in French, by Pittau & Gervias called "Elephant - A Book of Opposites", and a neat canvas grocery bag of fruit that I can slice and peel.

After breakfast the three of us returned home so that I could catch some shut eye while Daddy was off to do a family/engagement shoot for Andrea Archambault, her fiance Brian and his two kids Braden and Colin. Sadly, I wasn't really feeling in the spirit of a nap and instead just played my way through it. After an abbreviated night's sleep from Mommy and Daddy's exploits the night before, the lack of nap today would prove to be my eventual undoing.

Later on in the afternoon Auntie Sue, Uncle T, Nana and Papa all paid a visit to our place. It was AS and UT's first time to the house, so Mommy and Daddy worked overtime to make sure it was actually clean. The word on the street is that they think the house is a hit.

The plan was ultimately to load up and head out to Tutta Bella in Wallingford for some of the Northwest's first certified Neopolitan pizza. Here's where that lack of nap came back to get me: After bouncing off the walls for the previous two hours with as much energy as one might possibly imagine, the wind went out of the sails by the time I got to the bottom of the stairs to leave. Based on the window shattering display of lung output, Daddy elected to stay home and put me to bed. After a bottle, I was motionless in about 30 seconds. Tired girl.

Culinary Communion

The first act of today consisted of Daddy and I attending our Spanish class at Sponge. A few of the new words we learned were: abeja (bumblebee), arbol (tree), rana (frog), and pasto (grass). Maestra Lorena led a fun and energetic class and it's always great to see Campbell and the rest of the gang there.

Tonight Mommy and Daddy drove me over to the house of Light so that all of the parents could head to the southern stretches of West Seattle to attend a couples tapas class at the famed Culinary Communion. After a brief meet and greet with the Chef Gabriel, they were left in the capable hands of Chef Katie to whip of their traditional Spanish delectables. From what I hear, they had a ton of fun and are looking forward to doing it again.

Hennie, Audrey and I had a great time hanging out with a colleague from Daddy Don's firm named Allison. She's watched Hennie and I before, but tonight proved a new challenge with baby Audrey added to the mix. Turns out she's a pro. We had a lot of fun and got chocolate eggs and marshmallows for treats... Yummy!

Owen's Birthday

Tonight Mommy and Daddy dropped me off at the home of mommy Lynn Burgess, birthday boy Owen Moriarty, daddy Joe Moriarty and brother J.P. Moriarty just a mere 7 blocks from our house for a pre-birthday celebration of some of Owen's favorite people: Bailey Stumpf, yours truly and Henry Light. Sadly Henry couldn't make it because he was visiting cousins in PDX, but that didn't slow the rest of us down!

Mommy and Daddy did a quick drop and roll as they immediately departed to West Seattle for a Port and cheese tasting at the home of Gretchen, Chad, Payton, Mary, Ellie and Emily Frampton seconds after dropping me off at Owen's. From what I hear, they had three fantastic cheeses and two lovely Ports: The Barnard Griffin 2005 Reserve Syrah Port as well as another one that was, well, not quite as memorable.

Red Mill Serendipity

Tonight as Mommy and Daddy were scooping me up from ELDC, Daddy got an unexpected phone call from the Professor Doug E. Fresh, a.ka. Doug Smith, Big-Boss at Microsoft, and/or Campbell Smith's daddy. He and Campbell had walked the dangerously-close-to-their-house 3 blocks to Red Mill on Phinney Ridge that is dangerous-but-manageably-close to my school a mere 2 blocks away.

Doug E. had a gut feeling that we'd be in the area and proposed that we meet him and Campbell there for a Red Mill Delight. Mommy and Daddy discussed this for about .001 seconds before laying rubber directly for some hot burger action! Always great to see Doug and Campbell and have some yummy Red Mill.

Easter!

This morning the family and I kept it pretty close to home watching Dora, Diego, and Bob the Builder as the weather was a little iffy and the parentals were reserving the Easter egg hunt as a post-nap activity while I would be gussied up in my pretty Easter dress. It's now an Easter dress tradition for Nana to get me THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DRESS EVER. But if I got THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DRESS EVER last year, how could this year's be more beautiful? Until Dad gets his act together and has photos to prove it, you'll just have to take my word for it.

And just what does the family Beel do for Easter around these parts anyway? Nana and Papa met up with us at an old haunt of Mommy and Daddy in the U-District called Tempero do Brasil. Years ago Daddy discovered this little gem while working with a famous Brazilian band called Titas. It became a momentary hotspot with Mommy, Papa, Daddy and Nana, but has been off the radar for a coupla years now. Until now... We came, we saw, we ate, we drank and we celebrated Easter egg hunts and chocolate bunnies. And hopefully we'll be back soon!

Egg Decorating

Tonight the Hennie Pie, or Mr. Henry Light as he is legally known, came over after class at ELDC for a little Easter egg dying fun. Hen proved to be up for the task and looked pretty darn good rocking nothing more than a diaper.

Waiting For The Plane

CAN'T WAIT to get home and see MOMMY!!
