Zoo with Campbell

Campbell's dad Doug organized a playdate for Daddy and I to join them at the Woodland Park Zoo. Since the weather was gorgeous, Dad elected to walk us the 1.5 miles each direction. Daddy kept me entertained during the walk by singing songs by the Laurie Berkner Band.

We bumped into Cambell and Doug at the Phinney Ridge Starbucks while Dad was loading up on an iced Americano. We walked together to the north entrance and got to business by checking out the orangutans. We also saw chimpanzees, macaques, Malaysian tapirs, pythons, gorillas and African lions and wild dogs. I'm still hoping to see the elephants, giraffes, snow leopards and Sumatran tigers.

After a 20 minute romp around the grassy field where the Zoo Tunes events are held, we headed to the patio at Zeek's pizza to enjoy a couple of beers and slices. And all four of us did indeed enjoy. Mmmmm... Maritime Pacific IPA.

Brandon Reece Abulhosn

Mommy, Daddy and I would like to congratulate our friends the Abulhosn's on the birth of their new baby boy. It's going to be fun to watch Marques be a big brother.

Mom Gone (Yet Again)

Mom has bailed out on Daddy and I to attend a Starbucks conference in Bellevue. She's been staying at the brand new Westin at Lincoln Center and enjoying the absence of stress associated with trying to get a good night's sleep when there is a temperamental 19-month old in the next room. Well I've got news for her: Daddy and I have had a great time and I've slept through the night each night since she's left.

Here is a pic Dad snapped while I was grubbing on blackberries and smoked salmon...

Easter Brunch at Salty's

Today Mom, Dad and I met up with Papa Jack and Nana at Salty's on Alki in West Seattle. Both the view and the weather were fantastic and we had a great time. Aftwards we headed over to the home of Kathi Cronin and her family of Gerard, Phalen and Briere Denommee for an Easter egg hunt. Gerard was pouring Manhattan's and a great time was therefore had by all.

SF Movie

So as you know if you've been checking in on me, we were in the Bay Area last weekend to attend a wedding and see Auntie Rosy. Daddy whipped together a little movie containing the bulk of the images he captured over the weekend. It's 5.2MB and can be see by clicking here.
Quicktime plug-in is required.

Ear Inflection

Last Thursday during a routine check up with Dr. Spector, he noticed a little bit of fluid in my right ear and warned that we may be headed toward an ear infection. My ear has definitely been bothering me since returning home from our trip to the Bay Area, so Daddy took me in yesterday for the doctor to have a look.

We were seen by Dr. Nancy Shuette since Dr. Spector is presenting at a medical symposium in Puerto Vallarta (yeah right... It's just an excuse to have authentic Mexican margaritas). She was very, very nice and prescribed about a weeks worth of Amoxicillin to make sure the fluid didn't develop in to a full-blown infection.

The Long Road to SF

Yesterday the Beel 3 embarked on a trip to the Bay Area of San Francisco, CA and surrounding areas. We actually checked into the Larkspur Marriott as we will be attending a wedding reception at Fairfax's Deer Park Villa. Heather Logan, the daughter of our dear friends Deb and Lance Logan, will be marrying Jim Leedy Saturday around 4PM. I'm uber excited because I'll get to spend today in San Francisco with my Auntie Rosy! Click here to see photos from the trip.

Back in the Saddle Again

After four days of misery, I'm finally feeling like myself again. School was fun today and it was GREAT to see Kay as she was on vacation last week. She claims that her grand-daughter looks just like me... I'll take that as a compliment and continue to allow her to shower me tons and tons of love.

Thoughts now turn to our upcoming trip to the Bay Area to celebrate Heather Logan and Jim Leedy's Marin County wedding. The family Beel is heading down on Thursday and staying in Larkspur. I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to fresh and authentic tacos from the Sinaloa taco truck shortly after touching down at Oakland International. Mommy and Daddy still swear that the potency of Sinaloa taco juice is the main reason that I even exist. How psyched am I to meet up wit Great-Aunty Rosy at her crib in the marina district. My hope is that Daddy can manage a few good snaps and that fun is had by all.

Turning Into a Goat

I'm home sick today with hand, foot and mouth disease. My pal Henry's fever was like mine in that it tended to come in the evenings. He had his for 4 evenings and this will be my fourth. Daddy's home from work with me... You should see him squirm as I put the screws to him. He and I both hope that I'm ready to go back to school tomorrow.

Hand-Foot-Mouth Disease

Just as I was feeling really crummy we got a call from my pal Henry Light's mom Amy letting us know that their pediatrician had just diagnosed Hen with Hand-Foot-Mouth Disease (read about it here or here).

Amy assured us it wasn't serious but that I was likely to get it because he and I shared a sippy cup on a playdate the weekend before. This definitely shed some light on what the sores were on my hands. Friday I got a wicked fever at ELDC and had one bout of diarrhea just to make the situation better. It was appearing as if I too had my own case of Hand-Foot-Mouth Disease.

After a bit more compassion from my parents as to why I was being cranky, they've helped me get through the worst of it and I'm on the mend. I'm still a snot factory though.
