Jack and the Beanstalk

Yesterday Daddy dropped me off at Nana and Papa's for no specific reason other than they wanted to hang out with yours truly. With their parental duties on hold for roughly 24 hours, Mommy and Daddy put their free time to good use.

Daddy did another family photo shoot for the Abulhosn's that included the family of Lynn's sister and parents. Mommy laid low while resting her strained back before heading east with Laura Velkers to Joanna and Pete Bayron's North Bend home for some yummy dinner.

Today we geared up to head into Seattle to catch a puppet show performance of Jack and the Beanstalk at Crown Hill's Thistle Theatre. Here is the show's official blurb:
Based on an old English version of the story, simple Jack Spriggins trades his family's cow for five colored beans. His long suffering mother tosses the beans out the window where they magically grow as tall as the sky. An amazing adventure ensues when Jack climbs to the top of the beanstalk and becomes a slave to the Cyclops wife of the Fee-fi-fo-fum Giant. Struggling to feed her husband's enormous appetite the excitement continues as the wife also tries to protect Jack from the giant's wrath. A golden hen, a magic singing harp and even a green fairy and a fool add to the musical merriment.

Afterwards we headed to our house to have a celebratory bisteca dinner in recognition of Daddy's recent birthday. Nana and Papa gave daddy a hip set of cuff links by Pineapple Seed Jewelry and a Holga camera. It's going to be fun to see what Daddy does with a $25 toy camera and some medium format film.
