Herb Farm Dinner
Tonight we had the lovely Ms. Laura Velkers over for a wonderful dinner Mommy cooked up inspired by and in lieu of actually going to the Herb Farm. It's always great to catch up with her and hear about her exploits to far away places like China, Mexico and Hawaii. Here's a rundown of the menu:
Starter
- Wild Mushroom and Goat Cheese Bruschetta
- Served with Kirkland Brut Champagne, yes Kirkland
- Mixed Greens with Blood Oranges, Pomegranite Seeds, and Clover Honey Vinaigrette
- Blood Orange Sorbet
- Braised Veal with Portobello Mushrooms, Celery Root, and Toasted Pecans
- Served wth 2002 Chateau Ste. Michelle Reserve Merlot, Columbia Valley
- Apple, Cranberry, and Walnut Pie with Stilton
- Served with 1999 Powers Quinta Da Rancho Mercer Port, Columbia Valley
