50th Anniversary

This weekend Mom, Dad, Grandma Cynthia, and Papa Jack all flew down to Oakland, CA (where I was conceived by the way) so that we could work our way to Santa Rosa, CA in honor and anticipation of my Great-Grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary. Fifty years - Wow... I haven't even been alive for 50 months!

There were so many interesting and wonderful people attending the celebratory weekend. As the only baby involved in this shindig, you can only imagine the attention I was receiving. No complaints here.

Saturday was the big day. Daddy helped organize a golf outing consisting of: Great-Grandpa Jer, Papa Jack, and Great-Uncle Bob Herzog. I hear the boys had fun. After golf the entire family met at the beautiful ground of the Santa Rosa Junior College (a learning institution my mom attended briefly) for some professionally photographed family portraits. We are all aware of how photogenic I am, but thank goodness for Daddy... He's the king of the lazy eye and could rest easy since the shots were flashless due to being outdoors. Whew!

After the photos the entire family congregated at Hotel La Rose in Santa Rosa's charming Railroad Square. After a meet-and-greet cocktail hour, we all moved to a private dining room that was part the hotel's lovely restaurant, Josef's Restaurant and Bar. In addition to all of the family peeps that I had been hanging with for the past few, there was a ton of Joan and Jer's friends and a bunch of Jer's former business associates. What a crowd!

Somehow neither Daddy nor I managed to take a single photo (I'm still dumbfounded over that one). We're going to have to sit back and hope that the pro snaps are up to par. I still can't quite get over the fact that they've been married for 50 years. Congrats guys!
