Gluttony
Yesterday Mom and Dad dropped me off at Papa Jack and Grandma H's house so that they could go look at houses during the day and then go out on a dinner date in the evening. Their destination was Seattle's famed El Gaucho. Mom was in a very pretty black dress with lavender shoes... Dad was in a black pinstriped suit with a tie that accented Mommy's shoes. They are too much!
As recounted to me by a pair of very excitable parents, this is a breakdown of their gluttonous affair:
Cocktail Round
- Belvedere Martini with olives for Dad and a Belvedere Gimlet for Mom
- 1/2 dozen fresh oysters featuring Westcott Bay European Flats and Belon Petite's served with a shallot and balsamic mignonette
- 2 glasses of Billecart-Salmon 2001 Reserve Champagne
- Mixed greens salad with a Dijon vinaigrette
- Bottle of 2001 Gargiulo Cabernet-Sauvignon from Oakville in Napa (Recently rated 100 points in WS)
- Chateau of New York for two accompanied with grilled portabellos and asparagus
- Chocolate ganache with pecan crust over a caramel sauce
- Porto Rocha 10 year old Tawny Port for Mom
- 16 year old Lagavulin Scotch for Dad
- Joya de Nicaragua Antanos Belicoso cigar for Dad
There goes the college fund!!!
